New members of the family

There are 2 new members of our family. Princess Leiah the dog and Boba Fett the kitty. Leiah is a 1 year old Husky we got from a neighbor who was neglecting her greatly. She is a very energetic dog and we are still tweeking the training issues but overall I think she will be a great addition.
Shortly after we got Leiah, sweet baby kitten Boba showed up in our lives and we couldnt live without him. Yes the count is right, 4 CATS!!!! If you are a cat owner you know that cats are extremely low maintanence so having 4 has been no big deal except for more frequent litter box cleaning. He is such a lover and I truly believe him and Obie were brothers in one of their lives reconnected because they are the very best of friends.
So that is our family at this point. Kids are still on hold. School is finishing soon so maybe more talk of that in the near future but for now our four legged kids are the loves of our lives and Im so proud to say I love them and will give them a very safe, fun and loved life.

I know, I am the worst blogger ever. Here is a little update over the last few months. I started school again in August, 2nd semester of nursing school. Its quite busy but good. This semester I have Medical/Surgical, Maternal/Newborn and Pediatrics. I am really loving OB so far its so fascinating and makes me Baby hungry!!! YIKES. Of course I plan to stay at Primarys but I would love to one day get my NP in Nurse Midwife so its a good thing I like OB.
Other news we got a house!! We are so close to closing and we are so freakin excited. I am so ready to finally "settle" down in a home. I am so ready to let go of the lame apt living. I cant wait to be able to have my windows open and know weirdos arent peering into my living room each time they walk by and finally my cats can sit and sunbathe. Im ready to sit out on my patio and have privacy and not feel like i have to say hi to everyone who comes by. Im ready to not have to talk to my neighbors if i dont feel like it. dont get me wrong, i live by very nice people but i get sick of talking to them EVERDAY. Is that bad? Im most excited to have space to call all mine. I hope friends will come see us now since we have ROOM to have BBQ's and parties of our own. AHHHHH finally gonna be a grown up :) I will have pics soon. I have one of the outside on my facebook but i cant get it to post onto here(maybe cuz i am at work doing this so its telling me NO). Its gonna be so fun. Hope everyone is well. Take care.

So I have to admit I have slacked on my blog because I have gotten sucked into the Facebook world. Sorry!! This summer has been a good one so far. We have been bbqing alot, hanging out with friends and family, relaxing and enjoying our central air and we went camping once to the cabin so far over the fourth. WOW Mt. Pleasant knows what they are doing when it comes to fireworks. It was the grand finale for the whole twenty minute show. We found a cute kitten that was up a tree for like six hours before she finally came down and OF COURSE she had to be a sweetheart so we took her home and someone from my work took her. NO MORE STRAYS!!! I wish I could take them all but until I have more room NO. Anyways hope everyone is having a great summer. I will try real hard to post more often I just totally forget. Take care

Yea, the first semester of Nursing school is over! I passed my classes :) I was PRETTY scared for my pharmacology class I was sitting right on the edge but I did very good on my final so I passed just fine. I will start again in the fall and next semester will be super fun with classes in Med/Surg, Peds and Maternal/Newborn. Im excited.
So now I have the summer off and we plan on doing lots of camping, bbq's and just getting outside. We definilty need to take advantage of the outdoors more. Especially since we are kid free!! Love Utah summers!!
Oh yeah and we are trying to find a house this summer so hopefully we will be homeowners sometime soon :)

This was a great weekend. On friday we celebrated our great friends Devan and Kindra getting married. They had a beautiful ceremony and reception at Red Butte gardens. Here are some of my favorite pics of the wedding. Congrats to them both!!

After the wedding we went over to Sheena and Codys and hung out like we were young again. We were up til about three that night. The next day we slept in and just hung out. Later that nignt we went to the Millers to watch the fight and were so tired from the night before (trying to be young again) that we were home by midnight and passed out.
Sunday however we were very productive in our BEE HUNT. YES BEES. I apologize to all you flower and bee lovers I heard there was a shortage of bees this year and we have added to the lesser count. There was a huge nest somewhere by our patios so us and our neighbors T&A were out tanning and shooting bees with a pellet gun. I got one!! We even lured them in with leftover fries. Nothing says ghetto WVC like shooting bees with a pellet gun on a sunday, sitting in lawn chairs in front of an apartment complex drinking beers at 1-2 in the afternoon for a good 4-5 hours. Oh yeah living the high life!! ;)

Ok Ok I know it has been FOREVER since I posted. Thanks to all you loyal friends who still care :) So the last month and a half has been so so busy and fun. I started going to St. Joseph's Villa for my clinicals and have had an interesting time. I definitly could not do the nursing home part of nursing but the Alzheimer's unit was an absolute blast.

Me and Tyler celebrated our official TEN year anniversary on March 9th. That was the original date of our becoming a couple. A whole DECADE has gone by and I am so so proud to still be a part of eachothers lives. We have overcome some true hardships and have celebrated some very wonderful memories too. I am honestly so blessed to have met my soul mate those many years ago and have grown so much because of him. Thanks to all of you who have supported and encouraged our relationship through the years. We have some of the most amazing friends and family.

My cute little nephew turned 3 on March 11 and he had his party at Jumping Jacks. A very fun place. He got a bike and is actually pretty good at riding it already. He has always been so coordinated so it was easy for him too catch onto. P.S. my Mom made this Lion cake.

My great friend Sheena had her birthday on March 19 and we celebrated in style that weekend. We went to dinner at Skybox with a bunch of friends and Tyler ordered the most ENORMOUS hamburger I have ever seen. We had leftovers for two days!! And it was actually pretty good. Then we went to her house and hosted our own style of Karaoke. Singing to the radio with wooden spoons and kitchen utensils in hand :) It was so fun.

Other than that we have just stayed busy with work and me with school too. My work has finally slowed down, Respiratory season seems to have come to an end finally. Now it will soon be time for Trauma season.Yes my work has seasons. Remember to have your kids wear helmets and seatbelts, lock your house windows so they can't fall out, be extra careful on those big ATV's, remind them not to ride their bikes, skateboards, scooters or rolller blades on busy streets and as a driver, remember to look behind your car when backing up and look both ways at a school cross walk. If you do all this the summer for you can still be lots of fun!!

Ok enough of my soap box....Thanks to all my friends who have been great supports this past month with all my stress. I truly appreciate it. We will make it thru I know and you were a big part of it. Hope everyone is well, I will try real hard to keep up on my posting. Take care.

Superbowl '09

Oh the Superbowl....It was so fun this year. Im very sad that the Cardinals didn't pull it off. They definitly had their chances though.
I wasn't too impressed by the 3D thing but it was fun to see grown adults in the glasses.
This was a sad moment when the steelers ran that crazy yardage interception/touchdown.

Oh my the food. Our menu consisted of Coconut shrimp, Bloody mary chicken wings, a ham/turkey sandwich spread, stuffed mushrooms, meatball sandwiches, chips and guac, twice baked potatoes and double chocolate cupcakes. Oh yeah and plenty of cocktails to go with it all. I had to eat in shifts it was so good I had to try everything.

Overall it was a "super" fun day. It doesn't get any better than watching football on a nice sunny day, drinking and hanging with friends and eating some AMAZING food.

I tried to get a good one of our tree but the lighting wasn't working right.

Oh Christmas time....We always have the best Christmases. It has worked out perfect over the years to where we have plenty of time to spend with each family. Our day goes like this...Me and Ty wake up and make breakfast and open our gifts from eachother. This year I got Ty all set up to go fishing. A new pole, tackle, a tackle box backpack and some cologne. He totally spoiled me with a brand new desktop computer! I was/am so excited. Then we go to my family's to open gifts. My family got us sheets for our new bed, a nice big mirror, a new knife set, clothes, gift cards and candy. Then we went to his grandparents for lunch and presents. His aunts and uncles and little cousins were there. I have to give a shout out to his family, I definitly married into a great one. We always have so much fun with them and they all know how to have such an awesome time. Anyways,we started doing white elephant gifts last year and they are always so so funny. I was having way too much fun so I forgot about taking pictures. OOPSIE.

Here is one of tyler, his mom gave a lion outfit. Headband with ears, nose that roars and purrs, a bowtie and a tail. She always thinks of funny creative ones.

Grandpa was the last to get a gift and it was a scentsy car candle I was curious how this would work out to be funny... when everyone started laughing cuz apparently he has lost his sense of smell so it worked out good.

After many hours of games, fun and food with Tylers family we went back to my moms where she always has a huge spread of food and usually a very large party. (I think the snow stopped many people from coming. Again I was slacking with the pics. )We ended the night with some karaoke which was hilarious. I did participate but no pics were taken. Oh well :) Here are a couple pictures of the fun night.

Ugly Sweater Party

This post is quite late but I have been busy and its hard to keep up with blogging without a computer. This was our first annual ugly sweater party. It was at Sheena and Cody's and turned out great. Tons of laughter, fun, friends and drink. We also did a white elephant gift that was HILARIOUS! With gifts ranging from unscented candles, VHS tapes, a bag of trash, adult novelty items to flippers. It was awesome.

We got a new bed... A California King! We had a queen before and it was nice but I am quite the bed hog and tylers back has really been bugging him so we opted for a new bed. We got the most AMAZINGly sweet deal on this bed we could not turn it down. I don't know why or how we keep fitting bigger stuff into the smallest room/apt we call home but it fits and its nice. I am hitting up LNT and this wholesale store called Lucky Aces to find a nice comforter set. I can't find my memory card adapter to put pics up so sorry my blogging has been a little lazy.
Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving. Happy shopping to you all for christmas and remember to give to an animal shelter or donate somewhere this season. I believe that is the true meaning of Christmas...to give of yourself and want nothing in return. Its sad that this world has made that a hard thing to do but try it and I bet you will feel slightly enlightened. Talk to ya soon.

Oh Twilight...

Yes it is finally here and yes all of us crazy fans have seen it. My hubby even did :) I really liked it so much however I felt there was WAY too much info left out. Hello the bonfire scene and Carlisle explaining to Bella about their history at the house that first time... And I have to apologize to Edward cuz I did not think he was good looking but as the movie went on he definitly grew on me. I thought they picked perfect people for the characters except Jasper. He is too puny. Overall I think it was good, the rest are sure to come with all this success and hype on the first one. I just hope the writer remembers to put pertinent info in the rest of them and make them a little longer so it can happen. Anyways I would love to hear everyones opinions also. I don't think I will ever get sick of talking about the Twilight Series!!!

Well life is not very exciting right now so I don't have a whole lot to talk about.
We have just been working and hanging out. I am having a very hard time staying motivated this school semester. I get to start the nursing program in January and I am SO excited to just do it already. Ty is still working(thankfully) this is a pretty rough time for trade work. Especially people who work in new construction since it has pretty much come to a stand still.
Other than that I am looking forward to the holidays but I am at a loss with what to get my friends and family. Oh well it will come to me.

A new recipe

So I am sitting at work right now...(and very bored) so I thought I would post my new made up recipe. Yes I really did make it up. SO GOOD!!!

Better Than Chilis Enchilada Soup

5 cups water
chicken buillion or chicken soup base
1 cup milk
cayenne pepper
cholula chili lime powder
garlic powder
onion salt
3-4 chicken breasts cut up in strips or pieces
1 green & red pepper chopped
1 whole (small) white onion chopped
1 handful cilantro chopped
shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups sour cream

Start by adding water, milk and buillion or base to crockpot set to high. After liquid is heated add powdered ingredients to taste and let dissolve. Then add chicken and let cook for a couple hours til it starts to shred. Add peppers, onion and cilantro. Cook for another 45 min to an hour. Add sour cream and as much cheese as desired. I added flour water to thicken a little. Serve with tortilla chips on top and whatever toppings you like. Enjoy!!!

So the other night Tyler comes home just exhausted from work so I decided to make him a yummy dinner so he could have a good nights sleep. Well at like 8 o'clock we sit down to eat and all is well so I go gather some clothes for laundry, I am literally gone 2-3 minutes and I come back and this is what I see.

Poor guy, cant even finish his bite. Needless to say he had an early night on a half full belly. Love you babe I appreciate all you do!!

The new neighbor

So our neighbors Tyson and Ashley got a new puppy last week and she is just so so cute. I know what your thinking..A puppy in an apt!! Oh well. She is very calm and smart so I think she will be just fine. Her name is Burgundy and she is trying so hard to be friends with my cats but if you know my cats you know that will be quite the challenge especially with Yoda, Jango seems interested just a little timid as always.

Tayvia's surgery

So my youngest sister Tayvia had her surgery yest and it went very well. She had to have the hole in her heart repaired. They found it earlier this year after she had a random case of Bells Palsy. Anyway, they put an umbrella shaped mesh net thing in her heart and now all is well. She has to take it VERY easy over the next six weeks but she will recover completely. She didn't have to have open heart surgery, they went thru her leg/groin area and traveled up to her heart. Thank god (or Bill gates anyway) for technology these days :) Love you sis, glad you are ok.

A Girls Getaway

So this year we finally made it to Becky's cabin for the first "official" girls weekend getaway. It started friday but I didn't make it til saturday and I had apparently missed to most crazy night so next year its all weekend baby!!! This group of girls have been friends for a long time and we always have SO much fun. Thanks again Becky, mark my RSVP for next year and forever!!

It was Jenny's 30th b-day that week, and since she never celebrated her 21st cuz she was knocked up, we decided to celebrate it that weekend. Mr. Stud was the man of the night. He was used and abused :)

The annual Birthday BBQ

Since Tyler and Jims birthdays are two weeks apart they are always celebrated at the same time with a big BBQ. For the last 7-8 years this is the tradition. Its always a good time.

If you cant tell by the above photo the gift of the night(and always is) BEER!!!

My Italian Chicken Recipe

This chicken is so yummy I wanted to share it with you all.

4-6 large chicken breasts(no bone)
Feta Cheese
Sundried Tomatoes(I recommend the ones at Harmons olive bar)
Pepperoni(either packaged or the one you can slice yourself)
Olive oil
Crushed Red Pepper
Paprika
Salt

Pre heat oven to 350
Cut the chicken enough in half so that you can stuff it and fold it back. Layer the chicken with fairly generous amounts of pepperoni, sundried tomatoes and feta. Fold over chicken and use a toothpick to hold together if needed. Drizzle Olive oil all over the top of chickens, sprinkle the paprika and crushed red pepper flakes and a dash of salt on each one. Bake for approx 25-30 min depending on your ovens time to cook chicken. Enjoy :)

The Birthday Surprise

So Tylers b-day was Sept 1st and I wanted to do something fun and different this year, so I planned a surprise trip up to Snowbird for the night and Octoberfest. It turned out perfect, he had no clue. He figured the surprises out as they unfolded and we had so much fun.
Saturday we went up with our neighbors Tyson and Ashley and our good friends Jon and Crystal met us up there. We hung out, drank beer and enjoyed the mountains. Then later that night Shalyse, Derrick, Mike and Kenny came up and we had gotten a room that slept all of us. The room was awesome with an amazing view. Tish, Madison, Jaz and Foote joined us and we partied hard. The next day Sheena, Cody, Taylor, DJ, Kindra, Devan, Trish, Brig, Becky, Tish and her friends, Delynn, Brayden and all of us that stayed the night hung out. We drank alot more, enjoyed the german music and food, went up one of the chair lifts and just had a great time. Thanks to all you who made it. Happy Birthday Babe!!!!

Two Years!!!!

So I have been a slacker with my posting... Our two year anniversar was August 13. I can't believe how fast time goes by. We didn't do too much on our actual anniversary, I was sick with a cold for one and we had to get Tyler a new drivers license which took us THREE hours at the DLD. They need to work out a new system for sure. So that following friday we went out to dinner at Shabu in Park City. It wasn't as good as two years ago but still fun.

Thanks babe for all the wonderful years we have had together. I am so lucky to have a best friend and hubby like you. I love you so much!!!!

These are our babies. We love love our kitties and spoil them rotten.

This is Yoda, she is a total lapcat, has a slight attitude problem towards other cats and kids, a shedder and always keeps my head and pillow warm while I sleep. We have had her almost four years.

This is our Jango and he is the perfect kitty. He is so super cuddly, loves to play and loves to sleep under the covers. He will be our kitten forever. He can't meow so he squeaks instead and it is just too cute. We have had him 3 1/2 years.

He loves to lay flat on his back with his little paws curled up :)

So I watched my new favorite movie.... P.S. I love you. It is absolutely fabulous. Every couple should watch it. It is a total chick flick but very funny. It reminds you of the important little things we take for granted and how much they are missed when loved ones are gone. Anyways.... So I am a total fan of the Twilight series and like many of you Im sure, I have my book pre-ordered. Oh yes I am not ashamed. Its gonna be a good one!!!!! Has anyone read The Host yet??? I need some good summer reading. I love the Juvenile Fiction books best. I guess I just have a good imagination so I can easily be entertained by young reading. Its so nice to finally have the warm weather back. I love Utah summers!!! Have a wonderful day.

3. What kind of car did you drive? I had an 86 Jetta with no heat or a/c. But it did have a phone in it for a bit till it got swiped.

11. Who were your favorite teachers? Probably Ms. White. Did a lot of hanging with her with b-ball and all so she was cool.

17. What do you remember most about graduation? It was just fun to have accomplished high school. It was a weird feeling though knowing you weren't coming back and "real"life is starting

We moved

So we moved out of our condo that we were renting for the last three years over Memorial weekend. (For those of you who don't know it wasn't by choice our land lord decided to not renew our lease and would not give us a reason.) So whatever she was a wacko anyway. So now we live in good ol' WVC. Yes we are the minority now. Luckily it is a cute apt and our neighbors so far are way chill. We still plan on buying a home but with the economy now a days who knows when. I will post pictures of my fam as soon as I can. My cute nephew is so big now. Have a great day everyone.

Wedding

We were married in the church I grew up in and had our reception at Millcreek Inn.

At least my dress stayed clean :)

After 7 1/2 years we finall did it.....

And they lived happily ever after.
